Ref: Dr. Marta Artal
A PhD position is immediately available for highly motivated students with strong background in molecular biology and genetics. The position is supported by the European Research Council for a period of 4 years.
Research project: The project aims at understanding the communication between cellular signalling networks and mitochondrial function in the regulation of aging, using the nematode C. elegans.
The laboratory is housed in the Andalusian Centre for Developmental Biology (www.cabd.es), within the University Pablo de Olavide in Seville, offering an excellent scientific environment.
Applicants should send their CV and a motivation letter to Marta Artal-Sanz. Recommendation letters or contact details for references are not mandatory but will be an advantage.

Genetic control of epithelial morphogenesis in vertebratesAd published on 02/12/2011
Ref: Dr. Juan Martinez-Morales - CABD, CSIC/JA/UPO, Sevilla
Deadline: February 15th 2012
We look for graduate students interested in initiating a scientific career in our research group: Genetic control of epithelial morphogenesis in vertebrates.
The general goal of the group is to understand the morphogenesis of complex organs at different levels of organization. We use the vertebrate eye as a model for epithelial folding during organ morphogenesis using zebrafish and medakafish as genetic models. The aim of the PhD project is to address how tissues interpret morphogenetic tension transcriptionally, and how this can in turn impinge back on organ self-assembly. We employ a genome-wide approach to identify and functionally study genes and cis-regulatory regions activated by tension.
Positions are open from March 2012 (date is negotiable). We offer an initial three months fellowship and the possibility of applying for internal and external funding.
Please send your CV (including academic record) using this link.
